And Darwin wrote of ancient times,

All about creatures great and small.

The worm, the finch and chimpanzee,

Brothers and sisters to us all.

To find the origins of life,

Look ye not at Theology,

But elegant simplicity,

To be found in Zoology.

Bring those who fit and survive.

Bring the peas of Gregor Mendel.

Bring all the genes and DNA.

Bring me selection naturelle!

On board Beagle so he set forth,
